After a seemingly successful few days of corporate entertaining for some of JST supporters it was back to the reality and organised chaos of joining day. Special thanks to the office staff and the galley crew for their sterling efforts over the past few days , (you know who you are). Anyway back to TNS 403 after a frantic 24 hours of booking and rebooking we had a total of 30 voyage crew all raring to get going, after the settling in and the intros were done most of the VC headed out into London town , The Gun The George and Slug and Lettuce being amongst the most popular destinations .

The next day (Saturday) after a full English for most of the seemingly young and healthy we were ready for the push off at 0930, into the lock with a Pilot on board we steamed out into the Thames estuary passing the Thames Flood Barrier which we were told had been used more in the last year than at any time during its existence. All of this was “enjoyed” through a horribly cold damp day and driving rain. MB
