Aft Port Watch

We were piped out of Southampton by a bagpipe band at 5.30 and motored down Southampton water leaving the busy Maritime festival, we then anchored overnight in the Western Solent. Sunday morning was gloriously sunny and climbing training took place as we left through the needles channel. We then set sail and sailed through Christchurch bay past Portland Bill, the predicted rain and wind arrived for our night watch and some sail handling in the early hours of Monday was required, and the port lookout (well done Cliff) got a thoroughly good soaking. We had breakfast to the sound of the anchor chain off Start Point, Slapton Sands.
