Thank you to the West Cornwall Youth Trust who have generously donated £2,000 to the Jubilee Sailing Trust. The funding will be used to provide bursaries for eight young people from West Cornwall, allowing them to participate in the Jubilee Sailing Trust’s Youth Leadership at Sea programme.
West Cornwall Youth Trust’s aim is that the financial support they offer will help young people in West Cornwall take part in activities that will enrich their lives.
From the elation that comes with overcoming a personal challenge to the obvious benefits associated with educational pursuits, taking part in the right kind of activities can give young people a vital boost at a time when outside influences can play an important role in their development.
The organisations to whom WCYT give funding meet their criteria in a number of ways, such as: providing activities that teach teamwork, self-discipline, responsibility and leadership. Other benefits can include improved self-esteem, confidence and general social skills as well as development in physical, moral and mental abilities. These are all benefits that sailing with the Jubilee Sailing Trust can provide, and we are so pleased that WCYT recognise this.
