We are delighted to announce that the
West Cornwall Youth Trust (WCYT) have once again demonstrated their confidence and support of the Jubilee Sailing Trust’s mission by donating £2,000 to provide bursaries for young people in West Cornwall. This will not only enable 8 people from the area aged 16 – 21 to sail with us but it will also give young people the opportunity to participate in our ‘Leadership @ Sea’ programme, an accredited qualification recognised by the CVQO (Cadet Vocational Qualification Organisation).
The WCYT backs a wide range of incredible initiatives to help young people in West Cornwall enrich their lives through challenging and rewarding activities. They recognise that these kinds of experiences play a key part in young people’s development by boosting confidence and enhancing key skills such as teamwork, self-discipline, responsibility and leadership. We are delighted the WCYT recognises the contribution the Jubilee Sailing Trust can provide in providing these vital experiences.
Previous initiatives the WCYT have promoted include The Prince’s Trust, Global Boarders and ReachOut and it is a pleasure to be part of this select group. We hope the West Cornwall Youth Trust continue to work with us as a means of supporting young people in West Cornwall.
